Herefordshire Teenage Pregnancy Board

Brief

To create a website that would be a place for the teenagers of Herefordshire to come to to find information and advice about sexual health and relationships.

Solution

We created SexFaqs. The website was designed specially for the teenage age group and uses a young, casual tone. Information about sexual health and relationships is displayed in different and imaginative ways such as divided by gender and in an interactive tool called Scenarios. The scenarios take the user though a situation related to sex and relationships which young people may experience. At the end of each scenario, the user has to make a choice and sees the repercussions of this. Sexfaqs gives advice and directs young people to resources and agencies who can help them with 360 degree shot of the centre. This helped young people to not be so intimated by coming into health centres to find help. The website was a runner up in Midtech's West Midlands NHS Innovation Competition 2006.
