Brief
To promote the dangers that this legal substance can have on individuals and the wider community. Bolton DAAT wanted to target the Somali population particularly as khat use is traditionally prevalent in their culture.
Solution
We created the 'Khat Facts' brand. A poster and leaflet campaign that had information about what effects khat can have. The posters and flyers have information about the problems associated with khat both socially and economically as well as advice and tips to cut down usage. Posters were made to put up in doctor's surgeries and drugs clinics and flyers were created to hand out to individuals. To make sure we reached the target market, the campaign was written in both English and Somali.
Khat Facts was a great success in educating Bolton's Somali community about the hazards of chewing khat.
