d2 Digital were asked to help redevelop the tourism website Wales in Style to help generate income, capture user generated content, create relationships with site visitors and implement a content management system.
HOW WE RESPONDED
An e-commerce platform was built allowing visitors to book hotels online and buy merchandise, and a customer review function was added to encourage participation and allow Wales in Style to develop relationships with its visitors. A blog was launched with links to social media including Twitter and Facebook.
By integrating a CMS, Wales in Style were given the tools to manage and update the site quickly and efficiently, give site visitors the best experience possible, and promote the right features to the right audience at the right time.
Other enhancements included an advanced search option, an itinerary creator, Google maps mash up and SEO.
This website was a winner of the Best Website Award at the Travel Marketing Awards in 2007 and 2009. Wales in Style was scored highest in terms of creativity, execution and results.
