Graham, Kate and I have just arrived back from Copenhagen, from what was a great week. Monday to Wednesday Graham and I attended the Persuasive Technology 2010 Conference. Kate came along to keep an eye on us both and explore the city.
For those that have never heard of the term persuasive technologies before, the main purpose of this area is using technology to help aid behaviour change. As you can see from our projects, behaviour change is at the heart of all our work. From educating children about sexual health and being safe in the home safety to informing adults about the dangers of cocaethylene.
So back to the conference, I’d just like to praise the organisers for how well the conference went. Everything ran very smoothly, no doubt based on a lot of hard work behind the scenes. Also it was fantastic to meet some interesting and really nice people from all over the world, who we will be staying in touch with. It really was amazing to see what people are doing and how they are using technology to try and benefit and help society. There was so much variety, from online services to mobile phones even to virtual reality simulations. It all ensured a fantastic three days.
Next year the conference will be in Columbus, Ohio and we are hoping for some real advancements to help top this year’s conference.
If anyone would like any more information on Persuasive Technologies do not hesitate to get in touch with me as I would be more than happy to talk to you.
